Getting in gear for winter!

Being someone who loves winter, but is stubborn to change from my uniform of shorts and skirts to winter clothing, finding a gem like Simons brand clothing for winter is awesome!

Below I have shared some of my favourite trends for the winter season, all from Simons!

You can never go wrong with a hooded parka--it's basically a staple! I'm also really loving the interesting lines on the all black coat--simple colour, but the design really makes it stand out!

Baggy drop-crotch pants are a huge obsession I have right now--I don't know who loves them more: Me, or my boyfriend! Tartan has also always been a winter favourite of mine.

Well, what about you? What are you favourite winter trends? What do you think you'll be purchasing, this season?

Thanks as always for reading!

Obsessions & Collections: Bindis & Body Jewelry

I'm sure we all have a few obsessions--things we collect ridiculous amounts of because we're just THAT entranced by them. One thing I've always had a metric ton of are bindis! Bindis are decorative dots one wears on their forehead, between their eyes, in the location of the third eye chakra. Originally from India and many parts of Southeast Asia, they are generally red. They have some religious connotations and are worn by many peoples in Southeast Asia, and also around the world as well as their native location for fashion purposes.

I've been collecting them ever since I was in 6th grade when a hippie-esque shop opened up across the street from my middle school. They were so popular, at one point, pretty much every kid was wearing one! I guess my love for them never faded with the 6th grade trend--I just kept buying them and buying them! I love the idea of wearing them over your third eye to increase concentration and to meditate. As you can see, some of these packages are pretty rough looking--some of these I collected nearly 15 years ago! I'm honestly surprised I never lost these as a kid. The bindis in the very middle of this collage (the three identical red teardrop ones with gold) are my first original bindis! I almost used them all up!

Another thing I am secretly obsessed with is body jewelry! But I admit, I have not even one piercing! I'm pretty much the only one of my friends without  even so much as pierced ears. I've admittedly always really liked gauge earrings, but I know I'm too much or a weenie to ever gauge my ears!! I've been stalking body jewelry websites recently, so I'm going to share some of my favourite plugs from Fresh Trends!

So, what are your obsessions you collect endlessly? What are your unfulfilled obsessions you have yet to undertake?? Let's hear them!

Thanks so much for reading my blog, and have a wonderful rest of your day!

Sasquatch! Music Festival, 2014

My boyfriend, best friend, her boyfriend & I went to Sasquatch festival just the other week! We'd never been before, and it was really fun! It was held in the Gorge Amphitheater in Washington State. It was really quite beautiful! (And not nearly as cloudy as it appears in these pictures--we all got gnarly sunburns!!)

Here's the song that inspired this post-- It's called "Lebanese Blonde" by Thievery Corporation.

Sasquatch is a camping event, so you kinda have to fend for yourself. My dad found a cool campstove for us, so luckily we had a lot of food to eat without spending an arm and a leg at the food booths.

Camping festivals are sort of big car parties. We went to the festival a lot, but they didn't allow nicer cameras in, so most of our photos are from the campground.

One of our neighbors! She was so nice!

Our new friend Johnny! Josh struck up a random conversation with him, and after hours of hanging out, it turned out he was actually working at a food booth my dad's company sells to that my dad asked me to go by and say hi to! He didn't believe us at first, and then I pulled out a post-it note my dad had written for me with the name of Johnny's booth and his boss' name & phone number, and he was so surprised! I guess some meetings are meant to be! (Ignore the fact that I am blinking, HA HA!)

I could tell you so many stories about how funny our other neighbors were. To sum it up, they pretty much sat or stood on top of their cars all day long in their boxer-briefs, with their shorts around their ankles, screaming random jokes at passersby.

See? I told you that was their favorite thing to do!!

There was a HUGE windstorm while we were camping, but most of the other campers were at the festival at this point. So anyone who didn't stake their tent down well enough wasn't there to stop their tent from flying off! One of the smaller tents came totally free from the ground, flew at least 50 feet while taking other tents out like bowling pins, and landed over a fence and in the middle of a highway, right-side up, as if it had been pitched there purposefully. This is me cursing the wind, ha ha!

A few photos from inside the event! All of these photos are snagged from my friend's Jenna & Matt's Instagram's.

The poor decrepit tent that no one cared about, and left behind.

We visited Wild Horses Monument on the way back after the festival! I don't see any wild horses or monuments, though, lol.

We also found this along the way back--a scale replica of Stone Henge! It was pretty cool, there was an alter with flowers in the middle.

Sasquatch  festival was super fun, and in the future I'd really like to continue going to camping events--a lot more connected of a feeling than going to an event and staying at a hotel.

Thanks so much for reading my blog, & have a wonderful rest of your day!

California Dreamin' ~ Trip pt. 2!

Our friend Ryan took film photos of us on his old camera from the 1970's! The photo below is actually a photo of 4 of us friends, but for some reason the camera messed up and we all turned into pillars of light!

These shirts are from Ryan's clothing line, Lemurian Paradise! Love the designs he makes!

Silly bonus picture of Josh being weird. :P

| Hat by Banggood | Dress & socks by Romwe | Shall, gift from my friend Kendall | Shoes by Rose Wholesale |

Had a super fun time in California on the last few days! I think we stayed about a week in total. One of the days we went to a Gem & Mineral show, it was super fun--I only wish I was rich enough to afford all the wonderful crystals and stones that were there. They were way too pretty!

Also, hope you guys like the photos Josh & I took of my friend Ryan's clothing line, Lemurian Paradise! He has some real trippy shit!

PS: Noticed that I randomly have a bunch of new followers on my blog all at once. No idea where you all came from, but welcome! Thanks for following Faltering Bird!

Holly's Spring Wedding!

A few weeks ago, one of my very best friends from High School, Holly, got married to our friend Jake! I was lucky enough to be invited to be one of her bridesmaids! This was a first time for me--I've attended a small handful of friend's weddings, but never been in the wedding party! (You can see me near the middle left of the photo, looking pretty unflattering as I help Holly with the train on her wedding dress haha!)

And as much as I hate to say it, it has put me in wedding fever! I love looking at wedding dresses! But my strange confession is that I don't know if I'd ever want to have a traditional marriage with a big white dress, or a fancy ceremony. (I'd rather my wedding be a big party, where everyone wore whatever they wanted!) But nonetheless, I am so in love with looking through wedding dresses online. And not to mention, unbelievably happy for Holly & Jake!!

Here's the song that inspired this post. (I played it for all the bridesmaids & Holly when the stylists were doing our hair and makeup!)
It's called "Purple Yellow Red & Blue, and it's a Portugal. The Man remix by Muneshine.

If you're wondering which one is me, I'm the one dead center, trying as hard as I can not to get hit by the bouquet, haha!

At the reception, there were lots of silly things you could dress up with, like hats and feather boas and fake mustaches! This is Josh, being dapper. (Even though he'd untucked his shirt at this point LOL!)

Since I was in a bridesmaids dress, I didn't exactly get to pick what I wanted to wear to the reception. (But that's ok--the dress was awesome!) But When I was looking through wedding dresses the other day, I mentally picked out what I think I would have worn to the reception if I hadn't been wearing a bridesmaids dress!

The above 2 dresses are some I feel I may have worn to a wedding reception--I'm really loving the greens of the first one the best, though. Sexy evening dresses like the ones above can be found here: !! Check out DressV for more, here:!!

What type of dress do you think you'd wear to a wedding or wedding reception?

Thanks for reading my blog, and have a wonderful rest of you day!
